Caribbean/Central America Retail & Food Service Buyers Mission July 30-August 1, 2008 • Miami, Florida Buyers Missions Bring the Buyers to You! Food Export–Northeast and Food Export–Midwest are partnering with the Southern U.S. Trade Association (SUSTA) and the USDA, Foreign Agricultural Service, Caribbean Basin Agricultural Trade Office in Miami for this event to bring in several retail and food service buyers from Central America and the Caribbean. In 2007, the Caribbean purchased a record high $1 billion in U.S. consumer-oriented agricultural products, surpassing the previous year’s record by 19 percent. Similarly, Central America imported a record high $559 million in consumer-oriented agricultural products from the U.S. in 2007, up 24 percent from 2006.
